Thank you for your interest in Honor Flight of the Central Coast California. We are 100% dependent on volunteer support and we thank you in advance for anything you can do to help. We offer some ideas below, but welcome additional thoughts on ways you might volunteer. (Note: We serve the Central Coast of California. For hubs in other areas, check the Honor Flight Network website).
Volunteer to be a Guardian
Guardians who accompany veterans on their trips can be family members or community volunteers. More information about being a guardian is on our Guardian Application page.
Help Here at Home
Honor Flight Central Coast California is a totally volunteer-based organization and we can always use more help. Volunteers assist with everything from envelope stuffing to event support, all focused on sending our veterans to Washington D.C. Would Your Organization like a Presentation?
Our goal is to raise money for upcoming flights and identify veterans in our area who have not yet gone on a “Tour of Honor”, and one of the best ways to do this is by presenting to local organizations. We would be happy to tell you about what we do and the impact it has on our veterans. Please contact us to set up a presentation and get your members involved. Teachers: You play an important role
Helping our children understand the sacrifices men and women make by serving in the military is so important, and teachers are key to making that happen.
If you would like to have a veteran and/or an Honor Flight board member speak to your class, please Email us at chair@honorflightccc.org or fill out the classroom form at the bottom of this page.
In addition, we have a program that connects students with “Tour of Honor” veterans in a simple way that has a powerful effect on the Tour of Honor experience. Please contact us if you’d like more information.
Donate
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and are used to fund veteran Tours of Honor. Each veteran trip (provided at no cost to the veteran) requires $1,300 in Honor Flight funds. We provide as many trips per year as we can afford. More information on how to donate can be found on our Donate page. Note Honor Flight is 100% supported by volunteers — we have no paid staff.
